ABOUT THE PROJECT
Overview
I co-founded Quant Society to give younger students a practical entry point into quantitative finance. Through student-built models, research reports, and competitions, we bring ideas from mathematics, coding, and markets into projects students can test and learn from. The aim is to foster an interest in quantitative finance by making these ideas approachable and giving beginners the confidence to ask questions and evaluate evidence.
What we built
We built Quant Society as a home for our projects, technical reports, competitions, and SaaS platform. We organized summer and winter investment challenges in which teams managed virtual portfolios for clients with near-term funding needs and long-term goals, then defended their strategies in written reports. We developed four quantitative models using Python and wrote a technical report for each. We also built Quantify for private use in our competitions and continue to develop and test it. The platform tracks and compiles stock-market data to create custom simulation environments for educational and competition use.
